Linda L.
Brown has been a long time resident of Bloomington. She considers herself a transplant. Like many
others who went to Indiana University, she fell in love with Bloomington and made it home. She is a
graduate of Valparaiso University with an interdisciplinary BA that included art history, architecture, and
photography and a special minor in journalism. Linda studied material culture in the IU Bloomington
department of Folklore from which she holds a MA. Within the material culture field she has background
in vernacular architecture.
Holder of an Indiana real estate broker’s license, Linda is a Realtor, a graduate of the Real Estate
Institute with the GRI designation and a member of Bloomington Board of Realtors and Bedford Board of
Realtors.

Along the way Linda has worked in various fields that she sees have uniquely prepared her to be a real estate
consultant. Her office experience includes civil engineering and land surveying firm that designed and
built public schools and surveyed parcels of land from city lots to rural acreage that became school
campuses. She can read blueprints and can actually sketch you the plot of land from a complicated meets
and bounds land survey description. Her experience as a newspaper reporter and photojournalist gives her
a unique ability to provide precise copy and photos that tell the story of any home she markets.
She has been a credit reporter in a credit bureau, worked for a major corporation in their world headquarters
and has extensive experience in law offices, including being a paralegal in the local courthouse. She is
familiar with the retrieval of all land records, tax documents and building and septic permits. Linda
prides herself on being a resource person for her clients. “If I don’t know the answer, I
know where to find it, “she says of information regarding properties in Monroe and surrounding
counties.
People skills and marketing expertise come together as her track record shows. “I personally sell
about 80% of what I list.”
